Our first date, in January of 2021, was almost canceled because of a COVID scare. Luckily, we both tested negative and the show went on! The night began at Aikou in Morristown, and ended with us driving around making Doordash deliveries simply because we weren't ready for the night to end.
We quickly bonded over our part-time courier careers and our shared love for North Jersey. Joe shot his shot and asked Katie out for date number two, and thankfully, she said yes. A few months later, Katie moved to an apartment in New York City, where Joe slowly began claiming his own little corner of the closet. Eventually, that corner turned into a permanent spot, and the rest is history.
Over the next five years, we built a life filled with some of our favorite memories. From traveling to new countries and states and spending summers down the shore to eating our way through New York City, the best part has always been experiencing it all together.
In May 2025, while Katie was away on a trip, Joe asked her parents for their blessing to propose. One month later, with a little help from our friends Ally and Niko, Joe surprised Katie at Bethesda Fountain in Central Park and asked her to marry him. Of course, she said yes!
And that brings us to now. We feel incredibly lucky to have found each other, and we can't wait to celebrate this next chapter surrounded by all of our favorite people.
